The Lubell-Brand lab is developing clonal propagation methodology using micropropagation and hybrid propagation systems. Lubell-Brand is working to develop germplasm that will be sterile and unaffected by pollen drift/contamination. Lubell-Brand is also a national leader in improving industry practices for the production of feminized seed, which she published in the December 2018 issue of HortTechnology Journal on feminized seed production techniques. Her lab is examining variability in seed produced hemp crops resulting from strain hybridization strategy, and her work is currently funded by federal sponsors and industry.
