Through his affiliation with the Zwick Center for Food and Resource Policy in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Dr. Rigoberto Lopez and graduate students support needed research on the economics of cannabis in Connecticut. Currently, there is no economic information in Connecticut to guide decisions of perspective growers, firms on cannabis, and CBD oil production. The economic analysis program led by Dr. Lopez involves generating enterprise budgets under alternative technologies, risks (weather and prices) as well as evaluating the impact of cannabis on the state economy.
